Joel Rosenthal is a small businessman and volunteer political activist in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Joel Rosenthal was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas and is a graduate of R L Paschal High School and North Texas State University with a degree in business administration. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. In 1970 he married Susan Ellman and they have a daughter Jackie, a Media Director with Starcom Media in Chicago and a son Harry, an Attorney in Las Vegas. They are blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Will and Sara.

Joel Rosenthal has worked in agri-business his entire life, was previously associated with the meat packing industry and for the past twenty-two years has been in tractor parts sales. He lived in Fort Worth until 1973 when he moved to Wagner, South Dakota until 1984 when he moved to Canton, South Dakota. In 2003 he moved to Sioux Falls.
