Quick Takes – An American Sportsman

We will miss Curt Gowdy – a true American Sportsman.

Gowdy, the foremost Sports Broadcaster of his time is the youngest person to call a World Series Game and broadcast Super Bowls, World Series, Final Fours, and the Olympics. He had no trouble switching from football, baseball, basketball, or other sports a rare talent.

Gowdy had a strong connection to South Dakota former Governor and American Sportsman Joe Foss. Both hosted the long running The American Sportsman. Foss was host from 1964 until 1967 and was succeeded by Gowdy for almost two decades. Both Foss and Gowdy are members of the American Football League Hall of Fame.
