Pre Election Fun

rushmore stamp.jpg

Straight Talk has a policy of not responding to comments or other blogs. Tonight is an Exceptionista! As South Dakota gets ready for our Big Election Day tomorrow we are noting a non important but fun tidbit.

Former State Senator Don Frankenfeld commented yesterday at Mr. Blogmore about photographs at the Dobson Rally at Mount Rushmore on Saturday.(see comment no. 3) Don who comments frequently at Blogmore with wit, intelligence, and integrity (although I do not always agree with him) has real credibility on photos at the Mount.

In 1952 the Post Office Department issued a commemorative stamp commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. The design was taken from a photograph taken by Robert Frankenfeld. If you look closely at the stamp, in the lower right hand corner is a likeness of a mother and her young son. These figures gazing upon our shrine are none other than Mrs. Robert Frankenfeld and her three year old son Don. Rarely do living figures appear on U. S. Postage stamps.

Thanks for the blurb, Joel! I don't always agree with you, either, but you are always thoughtful, and generally one or two jumps ahead of the rest of us.

Don Frankenfeld is the conscience of the GOP and a personal hero. Let's draft him for '10.
This is a recycle post. Come on your readers demand fresh material.
