CAFTA Ethanol Update

From a reader:

Apparently the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) does not increase overall access to the U.S. ethanol market. It seems the claims made by the Ethanol production industry are misleading at best.

See the information from the Office of the U S Trade Representative.

CAFTA is going to get interesting. Free trade is not nearly as popular as it was during the implementation of NAFTA. This issue will be used by Dems as a wedge issue against GOPers in the rust belt.

I feel pretty good about the Senate, but for a number of reasons I think the GOP is going to lose a few House seats in the 06 elections. Not enough to change control, but more than I'd like.

I am all for free trade, but we had better make sure that CAFTA is a two-way street.
